i'm checking out new features of 2012 , have 2 standalone servers (not clustered) attached own storage (10gb iscsi). i've got dedicated live migration network between 2 servers (10gb). created dummy vm on server #1 few vhds. shared nothing working have questions if setup correct, based on what's going on. issue #1 - migration seems take long time , isn't using available bandwidth. have 10gb everywhere data moving through systems @ between 800mb - 1.5gb throughout whole process. have great tier1 san (ssds, 15k sas) our sandbox, know source , destination storage aren't stressed. data path looks comes off storagea via iscsi server1, travels on migration network server2, , pushed out storageb via iscsi. what holdup? why isn't moving faster , using more of 10gb links?  my thought since shared nothing using smb 3.0, maybe smb throttling things?  issue #2 - possibly related i'm not sure. have multiple vhds on vm (one per lun simplicity).  in perfmon wat...

my wds pxe response settings set respond known , unknown clients and i've checked box: for unknown clients, notify administrator , respond after approval.  this works first time every new unknown client , after approve it, creates computer object in active directory if delete computer object in ad (wait fifteen minutes replication) , try pxe boot same client again, gets right through to wds without having approve again. there must local cache, database or registry key that holds approved client information and doesn't go out , check active directory make sure object still exist. not good!!! ideas? you correct in if perform operations listed above, subsequent boot attempts of client post-delete not work. because windows deployment services can't differentiate between between "normal" active directory replication  delay , instance account did exist in ad, deleted. your scenario follows: boot machine first time. entry gets added ...

hi all, i having trouble installation of internal domain pki cert on adlds.  have used pki other server ssl know part valid. upon import of pfx computer personal certificates, have verified okay via indication have private key corresponds certificate.  checking certification path, leads root pki , well. i restart adlds , try connect ssl , no go.  server event logs indicate schannel error: a fatal error occured when attempting access ssl server credential private key.  error code returned cryptographic module 0x8009030d.  internal error state 10001. following ms adlds instructions ssl states add network service rights machinekeys file.  doesnt type of rights assume read & execute.  unsure file change attributes apply of them. restarting adlds instance doesnt solve problem.  tried launching certificates mmc , instead of computer, used service , picked adlds instance.  under personal imported pfx, restarted adlds, still no luck...

we have 2 identical dell poweredge t410's running windows server 2012 standard running hyper-v hosts (and nothing else). the hyper-v guests on 1 of machines take on 40 minutes boot.  once booted vm's seem perform well.  second t410 running without problems. the dell has 40gb ram , has 12 virtuals, 5 xp virtuals running 1 gb ram each , 7 windows 7 vm's have 2 gb. when running, dell's task manager says it's using 22.9 of 40gb ram , cpu ticking on @ 1 or 2%. i've wiped , re-installed host clean windows server 2012 with no improvement. dell's technical support has had quick , can't see wrong hardware side of things.  bios settings in problematic machine has same settings bios in machine working ok. the clients on 'slow' host part of domain domain controller on 'good' host.  tracert , ipconfig report expected. a 'google' has turned couple of articles seem refer windows server 2008 r2, however, problem started appear when ...

i have couple access databases migrated server 2003 virtual server on 2012. month after migration started running slow when more 1 user had database open. went through common fixes access , none of them worked. put virtual host in own group , made new policy wouldnt burded virus scanning. nothing fixing problem. i moved 1 of database old 2003 server , runs fine there, though server has fraction of power of new server , using half resources. server 2012 having problem hardly using resources @ all. 1-3% processor! rebooting virtual server every morning seems help, have been doing last 3 days. maybe there being effected after backups every night? anyone have suggestions?
