hello, we have hyper v 2012 deployment on 2 identical dell t320 servers. deploying new rds 2012 hyperv virtual machine replace our 2008 terminal server. can reach rds 2012 hyperv vm (an other virtual machines) fine within network. configured firewall 3389 rds server @ 192.168.x.x cannot connect it. there no windows firewall active , rdp set allow. i tried hyper v virtual machines, none reachable via rdp outside. however, setup firewall rules dell t320's rdp , connect fine.  what doing wrong? thanks! hi, i have file server running windows server 2003 standard edition patches upto 5/30/12. server connected storage array via scsi , has 8 folders being shared. drive letter volume "s:\". folder called "xyz" shared folder "s:\xyz" we have volume has drive letter "t:\" attached via local storage. we conducted a dr test, took full backup of "s:\" , restored "t:\" using netbackup. test successful , restore. had "s:\" , "t:\" have identical data except "s:\" production , has shares on it. never rebooted server our test , data stayed on 24 days no issues. on june 1st rebooted server part of our monthly maintenance , after reboot shares hosted on "s:\" drive changed drive letter "t:\" "xyz" folder went "s:\xyz" "t:\xyz". the shares security , permissions intact so when users accessed shared folder, date was24 days old...

ws2008 r2 sp1 rdsh farm assume that i redirect c:\users\* \\domain.local\dfs\users\* via (supported) unattended install method, or (unsupported) symlink method, , connection broker & gpo ensure no user log on 2 rdsh's simultaneously. in scenario, there reason use roaming profiles or folder redirection? tia if you're able redirect users folder network, local appdata (i.e. caches, temporary files etc)? your profile storage far larger if using roaming profiles , you'll in far worse situation if redirected folders including appdata. performance suffer because you'll have huge amount of reads , writes going file server. these types of approaches user profiles work arounds - you're moving problem 1 place another, aren't solving issue. recommend looking @ profile management solution instead. if it's profiles you're looking fix, take @ immidio flex profiles , otherwise see white paper:  http://www.brianmadden.com/blogs/rubenspruijt/archive...

i'm using windows 7 beta rdp 6.1.7100.0 when connect server running windows 2000 sp4 or 5 routers (hp) jump 100% utilization , bring network it's knees. continue function fine - oblivious issue (since i'm using entire 1gb pipe should be!) connect other flavors of windows server  fine. it's client , laptop - previous versions of rdp not seeing issue. drove network admins nuts 2 days. thought had virus (cause never network). when able recreate issue they're satisfied it's not virus , it's indicative rdp version. clue why? craig ahm.. beta network card drivers + port 3389 used say. try beta nic drivers ur laptop / nic card manufacturers. it's not rdp though. citrix technology professional , pubforum.net founder , love microsoft &its people bits!
