Mapped Drives show a red cross in Terminal Server 2012

have built new windows 2012 r2  sever on network , installed remote desktop services. when users connect 2012 terminal server, mapped drives show red cross. still able access network drive though , when do, red cross not disappear.

have spent countless hours researching problem on internet still haven't found fix. have tried following

- instead of mapping drives using gpo, have used logon .vbs script
- deleted ts user profile
- ran command net config server /autodisconnect:-1
- hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\service\lanmanworkstation\parameters  value: keepconn
  data type : reg_dword
  value  : 65535
- enabled gpo -
always wait network @ computer startup , logon

read following articles. couldn't these articles don't apply windows 2012
- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938062

observations

- first user connects terminal server session gets drives mapped fine subsequent users red cross in drive mappings

am @ wits end! have tried rebuilding server scratch problem still exists. don't have problems on server windows 2003 ts same gpo being applied users.
