hi,

i have branch office , there around 120-150 users in there planning deploy 2 vms on different hyperv host following.

vm1 - rodc, dns & dhcp

vm2 - rodc, dns & dhcp

i split ip subnet between dhcp server.

basically want achieve high availability on these services branch office.

is design ok?

any comments / suggests welcomed.

maqsood,

for starters, might want reconsider installing 2 rodcs in same site - since (as per http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754956(ws.10).aspx )

"you can deploy multiple rodcs same domain in same site, can lead inconsistent logon experiences users if wan writeable domain controller in hub site offline. because credentials user might cached on 1 rodc not other. if wan writable domain controller offline , user tries authenticate rodc not have user’s credentials cached, logon attempt fail."

as far redundant dhcp concerned, take advantage of split-scope functionality built dhcp implementation in windows server 2008 r2 (more @ http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee405264(ws.10).aspx ). if concerned redundancy, use failover clustering (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee405263(ws.10).aspx )
