we have several vpn users. causing issues our dns. happens our asa handles our vpn connections hands out own ip addresses own bank of ip's, these ip addresses not known our dhcp server. primary suffix dns zone gets populated these vpn client ip's, because disconnect , reconnect dns getting populated multiple vpn host names same ip address of course causing name resolution conflicts , other dns related issues clients. question how address issue? have scavenging setup in dns zone , working great aging long vpn clients. cant change without causing issues non-vpn ip adresses provided our dhcp server. possible add our vpn clients zone , configure scavenging configuration zone, or can do? i have found solution. have created new zone in dns, forexample vpn.domain.com instead of domain.com , configured asa use vpn.domain.com. aftwerwards setup scavenging configuration zone thanks for help. regards morten ...

i work small non-profit dell server running windows server 2008 r2 . office collection of random pcs , macs. use server simple file sharing , have managed set on laptop have no idea how around permission issues of 2008 on imacs. problem can see server in network neighborhood on computers cannot access it. understand having same username on client computer server. none of them set same usernames trying find way around it.  my initial difficulty getting windows allow me type user/pass in because when clicked on server in network neighborhood address wrong or couldn't find server.  for pcs fixed going start - run, typing in ip address using username , password account set on server. after access server network neighborhood , establish file shares.  i have no idea how same thing the mac operating system though. have tried cmd-k doing same thing never managed same result. suggestions appreciated. have searched everywhere online not managed put in right keywords ...

i plan on setting virtual network using dell r720 , md3200i. have configured 2 storage groups on md3200i hold the following virtual machines, vm-server1 (dc), vm-server2 (apps server), vm-server3. the second storage group purely shared data. question is, make second storage group accessible host (r720) , setup share here or create virtual server using second storage space setup shares within vm.  i plan on adding host server domain. there be no other physical servers @ point  microsoft not recommend using hyper-v host purpose other running hyper-v.  however, standalone environment, setting file sharing host should work fine.  microsoft's recommendation create vm , use file server.  part of reasoning behind such recommendation vm running file services portable , not tied physical server.  setting file services on hyper-v host ties services physical machine.  microsoft ensuring flexibility possible environment. . : | ...
