ok. i've got super weird problem here never experienced before. the problem follows. we've got 4 dcs in our production domain, 1 each operations master role, , each 1 holding global catalog well. anyways, few days ago created new password policy find out wasn't applied every client sporadically. specifically, got applied workstations who's logonserver corresponded dc created new gpo (dc3). first thing thought had replication problems , new gpo wasn't replicated other dcs. turned out wrong. replication works expected. dcdiag, repadmin, replmon show no errors. also, group policy modeling shows gpo in question in fact present on every dc. not applied on other server 1 created gpo. long story short, problem is: i created gpo on dc3. if run gpo modeling on dc3, works expected. gpo there, settings. if run gpo modeling on other dc, gpo there well, settings not. super weird. any ideas? further clarify things attached 3 screen shots, first same on dcs, new gp...

i have 3-node server 2012 datacenter cluster running hyper-v. have internal wsus server, , updates pushed today. decieded test out our cluster aware updating setup. the nodes found updates, , downloaded them fine. after first server installed updates successfully, tries restart. rdp session killed, , looks going restart, doesn't. logging in console brings me lock screen. ctrlaltdel nothing (so cannot attempt log in). rdp connections succeed, dropped. remote management not respond. server never responds. doing hard reboot on server causes updating run complete successfully, long has not timed out yet.  every single host in cluster has issue, , makes automatic updates unusable. any thoughts on how can fix this? normal manual reboots work fine. hi, as updates downloaded , installed, please check windowsupdate.log , event logs see if error message occurs when failed reboot. please check minidump see if dump created when node failed rebooted. also have test see if failov...

buenas! explico primero como esta montada la estructura. 1 servidor 2003 y estaciones con windows xp y windows 7 todas las estaciones se unen al dominio ok, loguean con su usuario ok, y su perfil se guarda y sincroniza sin problema con el servidor cada vez que inician o cierran sesión. donde esta mi problema? en la carpeta de usuarios del servidor, donde se guardan los perfiles, todos los pc's que tienen windows 7 instalado, su carpeta de usuario con todo su perfil dentro tiene el nombre acabado en v2. (ejemplo : facturación.v2) cuando los de windows xp solo tienen el nombre de usuario y fuera. el problema es que al intentar acceder dentro de alguno de estos perfiles v2, da este error: no se puede tener acceso "xxxxxxx" acceso denegado.  todo va bien, sincroniza bien etc y llegado meterme dentro de estas carpetas cambiando los permisos desde el servidor estas carpetas v2, y ya puedo ver que hay dentro. pero, la que esta carpeta le cambio los permisos, ...

i'm working in hyper-v environment trying deploy win7 virtual client. dhcp server linksys router. i've run problem during boot process. i've installed wds , boot , install images. when start virtual client machine makes contact , tells me downloaded wdsnbp.. i've set network monitor , saw tftp packets go by. it tells me architecture x64 referral server: 169.254.142.236 (which the apipa address of wds server) the next line reads contacting server: 169.254.142.236 , spins there. after while times out. reads failed restart tftp. tftp download failed. boot failure, reboot , select proper boot device i have expected private, not apipa ip. any thoughts?   thanks kevin try unbinding wds apipa address. use wdsutil /set-server /bindpolicy accomplish this. suggest using mac address of interface wan exclude instead of ip address this. see here details on command line options: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816898(ws.10).aspx ...

hello everyone, installed adfs 2.0 on machine (windows server r2 sp1) wasn't able start adfs service due issues (its entirely different topic). tried uninstall , install again, uninstalling used process provided @ link - http://blog.msresource.net/2012/06/15/uninstalling-ad-fs-2-0-and-deleting-the-databases/ but when try configure  restarted and  installed it. while trying configure getting following error: "an error occurred during attempt perform configuration task: access module identityserverpolicy.createdefaultobjects blocked because signature not valid." it occurs when configuration wizard @ "create adfs configuration database" these no available online error. i'd thankful if 1 can help. solution needed urgently. thanks , regards, hi, posting in microsoft technet forums. please try suggestions in thread below see if can helpful in situation: adfs v2 wizard failing  http://social.technet.microsoft.co...

running: hyper-v server 2008 r2 condition: functional configuration on 30 virtuals.  stable on year.   8 nic's on host 2 in use, 1 management access , other external virtual network virtuals' traffic. trigger: (past) time add external virtual network distribute network traffic. steps: connected network cable to a unused hyper-v server host nic.   confirmed through hyper-v manager host recognized newly connected network cable , received address via dhcp.  added new external virtual network through hyper-v manager.   process drops hyper-v manager connectivity never came back.   i unable connect virtual host via hyper-v manager (cannot connect rpc service).   logged onto host console , noted network settings still showed 3 virtual networks (the 2 original ones plus newly added one).   diagnostic ran steps under "configure remote management" , following 2 original networks showing in netw...
