RDS Gateway settings not using the address populated from GPO - Needs manual change
hi experts,
we have setup rds farm in our infra , have deployed rd gateway server. per customer requirement, have created group policy automatically set rd gateway server address users sessions.
user configuration\policies\administrative templates\windows components\remote desktop services\rd gateway
the user policy set , settings reflecting in rd gateway settings (connect anywhere) default highlighted on "automatically detect rd gateway server settings" options instead of "use these rd gateway server settings" under gateway server ip populated through group policy.
this forces end users manually click "show options->advanced->connect anywhere settings->use these rd gateway server settings real pain. can automated using group policy? if known issue rds, microsoft have hotfix overcome this?

hi,
when have group policy setting applied user normal remote desktop client set "automatically detect rdg server settings" have in screenshot. there no need user manually select "use these rdg server settings" unless want use different rd gateway server (if allowed in policy setting).
when group policy setting configured , applied user the mstsc.exe client automatically use specified rd gateway server if destination host cannot reached using direct connection.
in screenshot, noticed have ip address specified rd gateway server. you would specify a fqdn rd gateway, , rd gateway server must configured trusted certificate matching subject. example, gateway.domain.com , rd gateway have certificate configured gateway.domain.com issued trusted public authority such thawte, godaddy, geotrust, comodo, digicert, etc.
