i'm new windows 2008 r2, having taken plunge upgrade home network server os have 12 pcs, 2 network printers , other devices. management of patches, control of software installed , performance main reason decision. i'm not sure if right place series of general questions. please forgive me if got wrong. i've spent last couple of days searching around solutions these issues can't find works. installed 2008 r2 on test machine , installed , worked first shot. did a few times make sure understood how complete install , test everything. when attempted updrade production server things went awry. the server intel i5-2500, 8gb ddr3 ram. mobo z68x-ud3r-b3. has nvidia graphics card. have 2 x sata 3 drives, 5 x sata 2 , 1 usb drive, total storage 14.5 tb (1). can't install adobe flash player 10.3. crashes saying application has stopped working. tried manually download installer didn;t work either. (2). tried install wsus, got "update not found". spent day...

on our 2008 r2 citrix xenapp 6 farm hidden drives mapped group policy preferences intermittently visible users logging on minutes, before hidden again.  this has happened on several different users, servers , gpo's. the gpo's  has not been changed. reading logs made me none wiser. anyone come across before? hello, do have gpos different settings on hiding drives? if mixup settings, hiding drives may not work anymore. mvp group policy - mythen, insiderinfos und troubleshooting zum thema gpos: let's go, use gpo! just wish make sure thinking/planning practically achievable. please advice/recommend/correct me. following wish do/achieve. 1. using win2008 r2, install/setup 3 hyper v host on similar server h/w. enough shared storage. 2. create hyper v /windows cluster using 3 server nodes. 3. have requirement run 8 application servers, configure/create 4 vm's each on of first , second hyper v host respectively or else configure/create 3+3+2 vm's spread across 3 hyper v host 4. using live migration hyper v feature of r2 should able achive following a. move manually of vm's 1 hyper v host without service disruption. or there momentarily service disruption? b. in case 1 hyper v host goes down vm's hosting should activate automatically on other available hyper v host. happen or without service disruption? c. suppose if out of 3 hyper v host, 1 hyper v host hosting 2 vm's & hyper v host goes down.  can/will 2 vm's staring running on hyper v host or is possible h...
