Anyone run a beefy SQL box on Hyper-V (ForeFront DB)
what performance like? using local or san?
have seen whitepaper? http://sqlcat.com/whitepapers/archive/2008/10/03/running-sql-server-2008-in-a-hyper-v-environment-best-practices-and-performance-recommendations.aspx
it should answer of questions.
performance r2 better. think find hyper-v supports sql workloads well, limitation being hyper-v limits virtual machines 4 processors. if sql server needs more processing power that, should use physical machine.
