Multiple NICs - Default Hardware NIC Issue

i have 3 physical nics on hyper v 2008 system.   have nic-1 hard set static ip on network , other 2 connected virtual server , set dhcp on virtual adapters. i want host os use nic-1 while hyper v uses other two.  when on workstation , try ping host os system name keep getting 1 of dhcp nic addresses instead of nic-1 static address.

i have done alot of reading on past 2 days , configurations virtual server appear correct.  thinking may dns issue not sure.

any ideas?

thanks,
mitch

you mentioned “i have nic-1 hard set static ip on network , other 2 connected virtual server , set dhcp on virtual adapters. want host os use nic-1 while hyper v uses other two.”

so can perform following steps:

1.    bind nic-2 , nic-3 external virtual networks. (there 2 new virtual adapters spawned system)

2.    disable 2 virtual adapters spawned in previous step.

3.    set static ip address nic-1.

best regards,

vincent hu
