Cannot access particual named DFS folder
we have following situation: 2 node failover cluster w2k3 r2. on cluster host dfs file structure.
this cluster running on 4 years now. experienced strange situation in users cannot access specificly named folder.
the folder created normal procedure. hidden share gets created automatically, normal. security set without problems.
we can make dfs link, without problems. when click on check shows folder online.
verification administrative accounts shows that:
folder visible , accessible via cluster resource name \\clusterresourceservername\project\namedfolder
no problems either going to: \\servername\namedfolder$ , \\clusternode\pathtoresource\namedfolder working fine.
users (with rights ofcours) can connect hidden share perfectly, can access through clusternode (by typing complete path etc) cannot access folder when connect clusterresourcename , brows folder.
users error message: (p:) project on "clusterresourceservername"
"kan geen configuratiegegevens bij de domeincontroller lezen omdat de computer niet beschikbaar of omdat de toegang geweigerd is.".
"configuration information not read domain controller, either because machine unavailable, or access has been denied."
strange thing: administrator can access through means. users can not through dfs link. security set ok. has been tested accessing through other ways.
on server see error message: eventid: 3019 (mrxsmb) redirector failed determine connection type.
bonus in this. not matter other folder name choose, works perfectly. creation of new shares fine , works perfectly. specific named not work.
name: klimaatbuffer oesterdam
if create klimaatbuffer oesterdan works.
if create bladibladibla works.
if delete folder, link, etc. , later re-create it. same problems. specific named folder.
does know happening? or has seen same problems , knows solution. i'd use specific name.. (and want know cause of problem).
regards,
hi,
test remove link target again.
run "dfsutil /clean /server:<fileserver> /share:<sharename>"
unshare directory, share added share dfs link target.
