Problem opening the same file in branches and matrix (DFS)
have matrix call lojam , 2 branches call lojasp in sao paulo , lojarj in rio de janeiro .
file distribution dfs between them . in each location have allocated files , replicated among dfs , except each uses file directory of drive , not make sense use files lojasp lojam , because use internet bandwidth .
problem dfs not opening files . understand , below file structure on servers of each unit mapped .
lojam : user maps here : \ \ lojam \ files \ finance \
lojasp : user maps here : \ \ lojasp \ files \ finance \
lojarj : user maps here : \ \ lojarj \ files \ finance \
in case files in these folders replicated each other dfs , since path same, changing source ( in case server ) , can open same file in location , because dfs not perform treatment of open files .
have file in dfs financeiro_dados.xml units \ files \ finance \
should happen if open file there 's lojasp , in same folder replication units , should prevent user had ability open file . in case opposite happens , user opens file lojasp financeiro_dados.xml , , user opens same file lojam financeiro_dados.xml . hence 2 editing @ same time , last save overrides change other .
because units not map same location ? why give consuming high bandwidth internet / network access file allocated unit .
wanted find solution make distribution of files between drives , took control of files , if lojasp financeiro_dados.xml open file , other users , lojam lojarj prevented if change file financeiro_dados.xml because open in lojasp .
not know if understood situation , if not more , can explain otherwise .

using dfs-r sync multiple common file share describe area recommend against. windows has not distributed lock checking. if there problems getting files overwritten bad..
there third party tool says manage locks in dfs-r environment, cant if works or not. http://www.peersoftware.com/solutions/file-locking-for-ms-dfsr.html
