we have 2 windows 2008 r2 servers in cluster configuration. have need break cluster , keep of shared folders/permissions, etc. on 1 of 2 servers in cluster. reason going converting of iscsi volumes vhdx format in order work our new copy/backup solution. can give me steps need go through after un-clustering these 2 servers, of shares still remain in usable state of user's drive mappings share names, etc. still functional?

hi silbery1,

thanks post.

destroying cluster destroy cluster option not touch data or acls on disk.  will, obviously, lose share permissions, if have set shares concerned ntfs file security , plan on recreating them, should fine.
