however on out server 2003 machines, seam see in wsus server (as after update servers show on wsus console.) if windows update or automatic update run on 2003 server install avalible updates not approved ones.please download , run client diagnostic tool on 1 of these win2003 machines , post results.checking connection wsus/sus server
wuserver = http://whatsup:8530
wustatusserver = http://whatsup:8530
this windows server 2003 machine configured wsus client of machine 'whatsup'. impossible machine scan au , choose download/install updates.
it not impossible user of machine browse wu/mu using browser , choose download/install updates!
how update obtained , installed logged in windowsupdate.log. while not relevant scenario, given age of thread, it's still valid other scenarios. windowsupdate.log tell whether update obtained automatically via au, automatically via wsus, or manually via wu/mu, , in case of latter, in combination logon audit logs can tell browsed wu/mu install updates.
