Polling firmware versions from 15000 printers.
across our enterprise apparently have 15000 printers, surprised me.
add shock, tasked finding out current firmware on of them, in addition what, if any, admin / security has been configured on them.
task it's self daunting least. hoping powershell may have answer.
printers range canon, xerox, hp, ricoh, , lexmark. far best i've come build scripts probe active printers via telnet , grab version number (if exists) , recustomize whenever encounter new system / telnet menu configuration.
@ least reduce me work 15000 servers maybe, 100 custom scripts.
if has better idea or feedback on how started on above appreciate it!
