hi everyone,

after had read article (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-docs/storage/storage-spaces/storage-spaces-fault-tolerance?f=255&mspperror=-2147217396) , article (https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2016/09/06/volume-resiliency-and-efficiency-in-storage-spaces-direct/) i had aquestion:

what happen if i createa 2-tier volume on ssd 2-way mirroning tier (performance) , hdd 2-way mirroning tier (capacity)? supported configuration? refs work properly? mean, refs write data “performance” tier?

hi,

as far know, shouldn't support. official document microsoft, supports performance (mirror)+capacity (parity).

here example take look.

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/filecab/2016/08/29/deep-dive-volumes-in-spaces-direct/

and refs, refs writes mirror tier, advanced write-cache. if writes updates data sitting in parity tier, new writes still go mirror tier , old data in parity tier invalidated.

best regards,

mary
