Remote Desktop Services Server 2008 R2 - Group Policy Not Setting Default Printer Correctly

hi there. boss wants me move away citrix , use rds instead , far, seems ok apart setting users printers via group policy. in our citrix environment, session printers assigned using advanced config console, of these printers, can set 1 default. have tried emulate in rds , have gotten far printers showing in users rds session, seems default random printer opposed 1 have set in group policy. running rds on server 2008 r2 latest patches. have 1 connection broker , far, 1 rds server. accessing rds session using hp thin client xp embedded on , using rdp client. have tried unticking printers tick box on rds client, still sets random printer default. there can suggest fix this? thanks, berks01

hi,

as test, please see if disabling default main client printer on rdp-tcp listener corrects problem seeing.  open rd sesson host configuration (tsconfig.msc), double-click on rdp-tcp.  on client settings tab, select default main client printer (selecting disables it).

after making above change please test logging on standard user 1 of thin clients.

thanks.
