can install hyper-v server 2012 r2 core in production??

or have install hyper-v server windows server 2012 r2 server role.

this implement hyper-v in production environement.

this server dedicated hyper-v primary host there no oher roles installed on server.

i install core bcause configuration console on other windows server 2012 r2

you can either. they're both supported in production environment.

windows server gives access built-in deduplication on local system , allows use automatic virtual machine activation if it's datacenter edition. if you're not going use either of 2 features or non-hyper-v related roles, there's not advantage using windows server on hyper-v server. hyper-v server lets skip annoyance of activation, that's not big of deal.
