/* server support specialist */

the dc have not replicated since long time , got tombstoned - end users might not impacted have problem here.

on faulty dc, can proceed following:

  • run dcpromo /forceremal on faulty dc
  • seize fsmo roles dc holding dc (to check if dc has fsmo roles, can run netdom query fsmo command): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255504
  • do metadata cleanup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816907%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
  • promote server again

it better out of business hours avoid impacts on end users.
