Can you install CALS in Windows Server 2012 Essentials and be used to access resources in a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard
i planning on having 2 servers.
#1. running windows server 2012 essentials
#2. running windows server 2008 r2 standard.
#1 our be our main server run ad, iis and file sharing, , #2 our print server , database server a software use in network. since windows 2012 essentials has 25 user limit, don't need cals it, however, know windows server 2008 r2 standard need cals, since using resources. purchased windows 2012 cals , install them in windows 2012 essentials , since other server be in network, can count 2008 server? or need downgrade the cals 2008 cals , install them in 2008 server, in case needed server, not 2012 correct? in case, can upgraded 2012 later on if needed, right?
