Cannot edit batch file in a Group Policy object from a Windows 2003 GC server.
i have small network of 2 windows server 2003, both dcs , gcs.
on first server (this original one), if try edit batch file contained in group policy object by, error message saying "windows cannot access specified device, path, or file. may not have appropriate permissions access item."
it works if same other server.
any appreciated.
please make sure turn off anti-virus or firewall already.
if we’re running issue on windows server box running terminal services, our problem can narrowed down 1 or 2 things.
the best solution has worked people uninstall internet explorer enhanced security configuration.
for details: how add or remove windows component in windows xp
if doesn’t work, thing can add server name list of trusted intranet sites in ie.
//servername
make sure log off , on in order take effect
if neither of 2 methods worked, file may blocked windows.
right-click on file , choose properties. we’ll see button called unblock @ bottom.
hope helps!
