Intermitted Issues with DNS/Web Proxy/Internet Connection
first of let me apologies way way down on 'technical expertise' level , terminology inaccurate , not formal enough.
school @ work (as trainee) experiencing relatively frequent unprecedented internet loss.
i have dchp on non dc (switched dc in see if solve issue) dns aswell dns on second server (added see if fix issue). forward external dns (the council) traffic goes web proxy (like every school in area).
basically, @ given time during day (seemingly when there more users on internet) our internet connection collapse.
attempts ping proxy fail completely, if proxy doesn't exist. meanwhile can still ping externally/internally - it's proxy doesn't respond.
way i've been able correct restart dns service , flush dns on server , clients.
there no indication of error in logs whatsoever.
fact internet work 2,4,10 hours before problem occurs randomly has me baffled.
hi zenriko,
firstly, please let know detailed configurations network.
how configure dns server? installed in same box of dc? how configure dns work proxy?
generally, @ lease have 1 dns server hosts ad integrated zone. , internet name resolution, use root hints, or if have isp dns ip address, add in forwarders of dns server.
using forwarders

in addition, seems issue related dns, when issue occurs, can nslookup internal hosts , internet websites? also, please provide unedited ipconfig /all dc, dns server , client.
hope helps.
