GPP Printer Errors.

i'm busy trialing using gpp map printers users , in testing has been successful 3/5 printers mapping correctly other 2 printers giving me issues...

now i'm using gpp map shared printers our print server , selecting printers out of ad they're published in there. when applying following error in event log 2 printers not mapping:

the user '%printername%' preference item in '%policyname%' group policy object did not apply because failed error code '0x80070057 parameter incorrect.' error suppressed.

i've turned on logging , snippet of error log:

i've verified of correct permissions set on printer share , share name matches printer name. when mapping these printers without gpp map without problems or errors.

any ideas on can check?

cheers,

hanré

i've managed little further , got working, i'm not entirely sure caused problem in first place know problem came from.

the printers had error above using hp universal pcl6 printer driver. first tried doing create new printer share , set same config & port failing printers using , new printer failed same errors apply gpp well.

what tried change driver on printer hp driver... know, fixed problem! when change universal driver still works , gets mapped successfully. works other printers using universal driver well. change driver else (can make/model printer) , change universal driver mapping via gpp instantly works.

i've tried on other workstations other users haven't had policy applied before , works instantly there well.

i'm never going figure driver caused gpp not able map printer never thought specific printer driver have effect on printer share mapping via gpp!
