DNS and GPO
hello,
i have issue gpo.
i installed new domain (domain.local) on 2008 server r2.
put server on network containe old domain (domain.int)
i disabled dhcp on new server, on local network have 2 different domain, dhcp on old domain.
thing when add new computer new domain, works fine gpo didnt apply on new computer.
i think its dns issue, mean dhcp gave ip new computer prefix dns (domain.int).
i added entries on 2 dns server think prefix didnet work properly
how can fix ?
do have idea how can migrate old computer new domain on same network ?
regards,
yvan
hi,

for client it’s fine use dhcp server on old server, or ip address other device.

so new domain controller runs dns service?
actually important thing dhcp server assign correct dns server dhcp client.
have modified “006 dns servers” value in dhcp configuration.
active directory create own dns records in dns in ad installation process. entries added not enough domain controller locator. please modify dhcp specify dns server dhcp client. clients in old domain “domain.int”, should set fixed ip address.
