File share server with deduplication

hi all,

i have customer uses deduplication on file server 2012 r2

on server file shares created , there seems problem.

until certain depth there no problem opening, renaming, copy & past files.

if go 1 step further cannot opening, renaming, copy & past files.

i don’t see options if wright click folder ore file.

exaple deduplication:

\\server\d$\aaaaa\bbbbbb\ccccc\ddddd\eeeee\ffff  ggg\hhh\2002\ii 2304 jjjjjj kkkkk lllll\0x-mmmm nn nnnnn \0x-oooooo-ppppp qqqq rrrrr\2304 rrrrrrrrrr ssssss\tttttttt vvvvvvv\

i can’t see options copy, past, rename, …

if create share on folder “0x-oooooo-ppppp qqqq rrrrr”, options.

ani idea why?

i'm afraid caused limitation of  the folder path length.

by default cannot create path longer 256 characters. programs (generally third party programs) can create long file path. not access whole path root able create folder under deep path. occur in share can accessed different operation system such linux.

and in scenairo, seems couldn't operation when unc is:

\\server\d$\aaaaa\bbbbbb\ccccc\ddddd\eeeee\ffff  ggg\hhh\2002\ii 2304 jjjjjj kkkkk lllll\0x-mmmm nn nnnnn \0x-oooooo-ppppp qqqq rrrrr\2304 rrrrrrrrrr ssssss\tttttttt vvvvvvv\

but still works path "0x-oooooo-ppppp qqqq rrrrr”, please create folder or file under "0x-oooooo-ppppp qqqq rrrrr” long name test if work.
