What to expect from repadmin (how to track AD replication)?

according article (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125224.aspx)
after each step of setup.com /xxxxxx, track progress of ad replication using "active directory replication monitor tool" (replmon.exe).

however, since have dc in w2k , new dc in ws2k8 , can't use replmon.exe.  learnt use repadmin.exe instead.  i've tried
repadmin /showrepl
have no idea expect output.

mean, how know if replication has started or not, , if "setup.com /xxxx" has effects on other dc?

ps: had searched web see if there's anything, found exact copy-n-paste microsoft articles: tell "to wait permissions replicate before continuing" (sic)  how long?  minute?  ten minutes or what?

hello horinius,

in replmon can rightclick partition or server , choose "synchronize............". repadmin use repadmin /syncall or check out additional options in link provided before under examples section.

btw, not recommended install exchange 2007 on dc. better use a member server that. move 5 fsmo roles 2008 dc if not done , make global catalog server. dns shoudl run on 2008 dc. fsmo roles should been on newest os dc, additional create new group in ad.
