Running SubInACL after Robocopy in Destination CIFS share ?

hi all,

can please assist me why got millions of error 5 - access denied when trying copy ntfs drive onto cifs share using following robocopy script in windows server 2003 ?

robocopy.exe s: "\\cifs\fileshare\ " *.* /xd "s:\system volume information" /xd f:\recycler\ /e /r:0 /w:0 /xo /zb /copy:dts /fp /nfl /ndl /np /tee /log:"x:\temp\robocopy.log"

in source windows server 2003, connect using rdp server service account member of server\administrators (local administrator), service account (domain\service-enterprisevault) granted full access in destination cifs share.

from root drive on ntfs drive s: can see owner servername\administrators, how come cannot copy millions of directory , files cifs share ? , of folder cannot browse through while can browse on source file server.

do have execute following script on old windows server 2003 source server after first copy finished?

subinacl.exe /subdirectories \\cifs\fileshare\*.* /grant=administrators=f /setowner=administrators >> x:\temp\setinacl.log

and run again same robocopy command.

any kind of , suggestion appreciated.

thanks.

hi,

could use service account access files on source server or create files on destination folder?

though account member of local admin group, can still encounter permission issue if local admin group not have permission on source folder.

a quick solution find or add domain account root of source folder , apply full control permissions - apply permission "folders, subfolders , files". give account full control permission on destination folder , run robocopy command line account.
