Accidently deleted Word for xp. Have done the "back to a previous time" backup restore thing!

hi there. new forums, dumb computers. accidently deleted ( , have no idea how did it) 1 day microsoft word isn't working. icons resume's etc still there, won't open. have done backup earlier date, after did of icons on descktop have ! mark on them, , word kinda opens, box with " windows installer" comes , says "preparing install".

after message comes " microsoft word not been installed current user, please run setup install application".   setup?? ive looked, ive googled. im dumb :)

if doesn't wrok, refer following method:

322756 how , restore registry in windows

please backup registry, , try delete registry data test if helps,

1. click start, , click run.
2. in run dialog box, type regedit, , click ok.
3. in left pane in registry editor, locate following key:
   hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\office
4. in left pane, right-click 11.0 under office folder, , click delete.
5. on file menu, click exit.

in addition, might  save that users profile data (my docs, favs, , desktop), delete profile have them create new profile logging in.
