How do clients connect to the farm in 2012r2?

hi, rolling out 2012r2 rds deployment.

i have highly available connection broker across 2 servers.

i have web , gateways defined across 2 more servers.

i have number of session hosts waiting configured. in various collections various teams use.

i want have 1 url clients connect via mstsc. had hoped use fqdn of connection broker specified during ha setup, logs me onto 1 of connection brokers (as admin on everything).

is possible work or need configure dns entry each session host point collection name?

i'd rather not have dns entry every session host. thought connection broker in 2012 did away this.

i thought should determine group user in , redirect them 1 of servers in collection, not work that?

the web access seems work, connect web url , click on rdp file, , automatically logs on correct session host.

my users don't change , want rdp direct server (mstsc), not want go through web page :(

any appreciated!

hi,

the broker redirects user based on target provided remote desktop client, or if no target provided redirect default collection if specified in registry.  each broker can have 1 default collection.  when user manually connects entering fqdn broker(s) in remote desktop client , clicking connect no target collection sent (there no place in ui specify it).

there no logic on broker examine groups user member of , based on redirect them collection.  concept work, 1 thing keep in mind users may have access multiple collections , in case there need secondary user interface ask user collection connect to.

if using remoteapp , desktop connections (radc) or rd web access launch connection unacceptable in environment you would need create fqdn each collection points collection's rdsh servers using dns rr or similar or distribute .rdp files users.

i understand simplicity when need full desktop connection of users opening remote desktop connection, entering server name, , clicking connect.  when using radc or rdweb or other solution based on webfeed benefit of more dynamic environment, the ability change options server, add/remove collections, etc.
