Builtin Domain Local - Security Groups not showing up when trying to add permissions.
good day,
after recent power outage our domain ran into replications problems across our 2 domain controllers. primary domain controller server 2003 r2, other server 2008 r2.
since had purchased hardware replacing primary domain controller, tried migrate fsmo roles new dc (server 2012 r2) failed. in end seized the roles using new server 2012 r2 domain controller.
now having problem when trying add ntfs , share permissions files, builtin domain local - security groups (e.g. account operators, administrators, remote desktop users etc.) not showing up. when going advanced options , searching when trying add permissions, not appearing in search results.
they listed in active directory in builtin ou.
suggest run following tools on each domain controller see if more information troubleshooting problem.
-> dcdiag /v /c /d /e /s: dcname > c:\dcdiag.log ,
-> netdiag.exe /v > c:\netdiag.log
-> repadmin.exe /showrepl dc* /verbose /all /intersite > c:\repl.txt
-> ntfrsutl ds dcname > c:\sysvol.log
-> dnslint /ad /s "ip address of dc"
, please run dcdiag /test:dns command check if there dns misconfigured error.
, check logs in event viewer more details.
best regards,
wendy
