Best Read\Write Performance for SQL on Hyper-V 2008 R2

have hyper-v 2008 r2 3 nodes.

have failover clustering setup , working properly.

have sql 2012 1 of guest machines.

best practice give hard drives best read\write speed in scenario?

i have set the cluster size of drives 64k when i formatted them. have tried both direct iscsi drives guest vm , fixed vhd's.

my last hope assign iscsi drive guest vm being connected host. basically attaching , existing offline iscsi drive host guest vm. increase speed? hyper-v failover work this situation, need connect same offline drive nodes?

thanks all

fixed vhd(x) way go if performance in mind. not pass iscsi volumes directly vms, it's begging troubles (mostly during vm movement between physical host , backup probs). dynamic vhdx vs. pre-allocated vhdx see:

hope helped :)

starwind virtual san clusters hyper-v without sas, fibre channel, smb 3.0 or iscsi, uses ethernet mirror internally mounted sata disks between hosts.
