currently putting 1 server through paces evaluate add'l acquisitions.  as several other related topics, client backup on wse2012 horrendously slow.  i'm in attempt number 5 laptop's drive (400gb data, i7, 16gb ram) via gigabit connection server.   several attempts have reached anywhere 12% 52% in periods of 12-24 hours (24 52%).   i've gone far isolate server , laptop, gigabit connections via router (no other devices).  at no time network utilization laptop exceed 0.5%.  vss service confirmed running (auto).   fyi, on old whsv1 box same laptop backed in approx 1 hour.  progress? the backup being written storage space (2tb free).  i've read suggestions isn't viable due flaw in os, i'm not abandon storage spaces considering redundancy prime factor in using wse.   microsoft, mvp's, etc, what's situation glacially slow client backups?  if it's known issue mean have such confirmed since show stopper (i'm persuasive ...

we have windows terminal server (windows 2008 std. edn. r2 - sp1) connecting fax server on windows server 2003. when user disconnect ts session , connect windows fax , scan not work. when user disconnect fax service entered stopped state. when user connects fax not work. when user logoff , login fax server service entered running state , fax works. tried update windows in fax server , terminal servers. alternative, installed new windows 2008 , configured windows fax , scan still received same issue. noted event id 7036. we don't understand reason when user logoff , login works fine. have tried configure fax manually fax service manager? or try upgrade fax device driver. check if fxssvc.exe crashed. hi everybody, i have misunderstanding ad cs. have installed ad cs , ok first look. question is: how encrypt shared file (with certificate issued ad cs (it uses local certificate encrypting))) on network user have successfully auto enrolled certificate decrypt file. when want add certificate user in order open encrypted file, doesnt let me choose. hi guys, looking for some advice please. i have windows 2003 r2 std 64bit server. made network changes , have changed ip address, it’s still using /24 needed restructure our internal ip ranges. since doing couple of users have reported slowness browsing shares on windows server, it’s intermittent , effects few (large) folders. user sent me screen shot showing (not responding) messgage in explorer, when logged onto pc took around 20 seconds populate content of folder, next time connected flying along. adamant ok until changed servers ip address. although going massive shock has kind of skill don’t use dns on network, don’t have ad , know 2003 eol. plan change of within next 2 months. can think why have happened when browse shares ip i.e. \\192.168.50.50\share\data\ example ? not it’s dns or nb issue. appreciate advice here.. bob - reno bob, you didn't provide information on network topology between clients , file server, unless have strange routing issues, gues...

hola buenos días,  tengo un windows server 2008, en el cual está instalado el rol de administración de impresión, ahora lo que quiero saber es de alguna manera cuantas páginas imprime cada usuario ?, eh visto varios foros y hablan de cambiar algunos valores en la registry para dejarlos igual en el servidor al del equipo cliente, pero quería saber si el rol o si del servidor puedo obtener esos datos,  muchas gracias,  saludos, buenas nicolas. el rol de impresión, no te va permitir saber cuantas impresiones hace cada usuario y si no me equivoco tampoco nivel de impresora o de cola. para realizar, ese tipo de auditoria, vas tener que implantar algún producto de terceros, que realicen esa función. saludos. hi all, help appericiated verymuch. i have remote users working company , problem when shutdown laptop , shutdown scripts run ages. normal users in network doesnt problem. any ideas??? thanks in advance.  what link between remote users , corpnet? have enabled slow link detection in gpos? how remote users logging on computers, cached credentials or "logon using dial-up connection" enabled them? you should enable slow link detection. when slow link detected, default, settings applied. software installation, scripts , folder redirection don't applied when slow link detection enabled on gpo (security settings , administrative templates applied, however). if the "logon using dial-up connection" checked on logon prompt, computer-based software installations don't processed. other gpo settings applied (other settings in computer policy gets applied through gpo refresh). hth. regards, salvador manaois iii mcse mcsa ceh mcitp | enterprise/server admin byt...
